Spurs began the month with a home game on the 2nd that saw West Ham beaten 5-3 at Hotspur Way. Pochettino opened the scoring early netting from Clarke's cross. It was soon two when trialist Etete had his effort saved only for Clarke to put away the loose ball. Etete scored from a John pass before headed in his second from Clarke. The hammers pulled three goals back with a strong showing in the second half before Spurs sealed it with a fifth when sub Whittaker latched onto a long ball and finished well.

Spurs travelled to Norwich on the 16th on a very windy day and mastered the condictions to run out 3-0 winners. Both sides tried to play it about in the first half with Markanday hitting a post before putting Spurs in front with a good finish. With the wind behind them in the second Spurs got on top. They got a penalty for a foul on Whittaker which Shashoua scored from. Markanday got his second running onto a ball over the top which the keeper could not stop. Norwich themselves won a penalty but Oluwayemi continued his form on spot kicks with another save. Both sides had chances but Spurs saw out the game to continue their unbeaten season.

Spurs played Southampton at WHL in the first test event on the 24th The unbeaten Spurs continued with a 3-1 win over the south coast side. Spurs were in front early when Skipp played in Bennett to curl the ball in from the left. Markanday was having another good game and won a penalty getting to the line which was converted by White. Spurs had more chances to increase that lead before the saints pulled one back in the second half. Spurs got a third when a White effort was not held by the keeper and Markanday knocked in the rebound. A good performance to open the stadium in front of the nearly 29,000 crowd.

Spurs’ last game of the month was on the 30th at Hotspur Way when Fulham were the visitors. They won 4-0 to remain a point behind the Gooners in the race for the southern title. The game began as a tight affair until Spurs won a penalty when Clarke was bundled over in the area. Shashoua took responsability for the spot kick and hit the post. Luckily it hit the keeper and went in to give Spurs a halftime lead. Shashoua did score the second when he was on hand to finish when the keeper saved a Cooper drive. Markanday continued his scoring form with the third before subs Craig and Thorpe combined for the fourth. Thorpe heading in the others cross at the far post. Having rested players for the trip to Arsenal it was a good result.

Champions Youth League
On the 13th Spurs travelled to Portugal to play Porto who knocked them out last season, for the round of 16 tie. They were again beaten 2-0 exactly a year after the last game when it was a quarter-final. With no Parrott and Roles Spurs lacked a proper goal threat using Markanday as a false 9. Most of the chances came to Bennett operating on the left but the home side sat deep and sprang forward quickly to get the first goal. Eyoma was robbed for their second as they had the better of the second period. Spurs could not get their passing game going which with no goal threat put them at a big disadvantage which they could not overcome.

Spurs began the month with a home game against Chelsea on the 1st. At Stevenage. Spurs began on the back foot but soon got into the game taking the lead when Cirkin got down the left and his cross was turned in by Chelsea skipper Nartey under pressure from Tracey. Spurs then lost Tanganga when he picked up a second yellow conceding a penalty. Chelsea equalised from the spot and looked to increase that lead against ten man Spurs. Spurs reorganised with Marsh dropping into the back four and giving an outstanding performance. Spurs held out and even finished on the front foot.

Spurs’ second game of the month was a trip to Leicester City at the Leicester and Rutland FA ground. Spurs faced a very determined foxes side looking to end a run of defeats by over powering Spurs. They failed to stop Spurs after going ahead conceding two goals from Roles in the second half. It was a scrappy game that Spurs over came to finish on top with three vital points. Spurs had two players sent off (Marsh for two yellows and Skipp a straight red) last season in a 6-1 defeat, but this time it was Leicester that had a player sent off and captain Marsh had only one yellow.
